Not yet reviewed. This is a reasonable starting point for a small UK contractor, but it is not legal advice and it must be checked against how the business actually handles data. Set legalReviewed: true in the site config to remove this notice.
Who we are
Cheshire Rooflines ("we", "us") is a roofing contractor operating in Cheshire. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected] or on 07470 988 330.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, phone number, email address, the address or postcode of the property, and whatever you tell us about the job.
- Job records: quotes, invoices, photographs of your roof taken during inspection and works, and correspondence.
- Technical information: the platform that hosts this website sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies so that pages load and forms submit. See our cookie policy for the detail.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To quote for and carry out work you have asked for: necessary for performance of a contract, or to take steps before entering one.
- To keep records of completed jobs and honour guarantees: our legitimate interest in being able to stand behind our work, and our legal obligation to retain financial records.
- To comply with tax and accounting law: legal obligation.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with marketing companies, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked us to price a roof.
Who we share it with
Only where necessary to do the job: our accountant, our insurer in the event of a claim, scaffolding and materials suppliers where a delivery address is needed, and the software providers that run our website, email and job management systems. All of them are bound to protect it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed work are kept for the length of the workmanship guarantee plus six years, so that we can honour the guarantee and meet HMRC record-keeping requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask us to restrict our use of it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses only the strictly necessary cookies that the hosting platform needs to serve pages and process form submissions. We run no analytics and no advertising pixels, so there is currently nothing for you to consent to.
Our cookie policy explains what is set and why. If we ever add analytics or advertising, that page will be updated and a consent banner will appear before any such cookie is set.
Photographs
We photograph roofs as part of every inspection and job, both as a record and to show you what we found. We may use these photographs on this website and on social media. They never include anything that identifies you or your address. If you would rather we did not use photographs of your property at all, just say so and we will not.
