Not yet reviewed. This is a reasonable starting point for a small UK contractor, but it is not legal advice and it must be checked against how the business actually works. Set legalReviewed: true in the site config to remove this notice.
The short version
This website sets the cookies it needs to work, and nothing else unless you say yes. When you first arrive you are asked to choose between accepting everything or keeping to the necessary cookies only. Your answer is remembered for a year and you can change it at any time from the bottom of this page.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Some last only until you close the tab, others sit there for a set period. They are how a site remembers things between one page and the next.
Necessary cookies
The website is built on a hosted platform. That platform sets a small number of strictly necessary cookies so that pages load correctly, forms submit once rather than twice, and the service can protect itself against abuse. These are session and security cookies. They carry no advertising identifier and they are not used to build a profile of you.
We also store your cookie choice itself in your browser, so that you are not asked again on every page. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, cookies of this kind do not require consent, because without them the site cannot do what you have asked it to do.
Optional cookies
Optional cookies measure how the site is used, which pages people read and where they give up, so that we can make it better. They are only set if you choose Accept all. Choose Necessary only and none of them are set, and nothing about your visit is measured.
Saying no does not break anything and does not change what you see. The quote form, the phone links and every page work exactly the same either way.
What we never do
- No cross-site tracking, and nothing sold or passed on to data brokers.
- Nothing optional is set before you have answered the banner.
- No cookie here reads anything else on your device.
Things loaded from other companies
Two things on these pages come from elsewhere. Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts, and the TrustATrader badge links through to our profile on their website. Loading a font makes an ordinary technical request from your browser, which involves your IP address as any web request does, but it sets no cookie here. Following the TrustATrader link takes you to their site, where their own cookie policy applies.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer whenever you like.
If we add anything new, such as an advertising pixel, this page will be updated first and it will sit behind the same consent. Nothing of that kind will run quietly in the background.
Controlling cookies yourself
Your browser can do this too, independently of the banner. Every browser lets you see what has been stored, delete it, and block cookies entirely. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking necessary cookies may stop the quote form working, which is the only thing here that depends on them.
Asking us about it
Email [email protected] or ring 07470 988 330. Our privacy policy covers what we do with the details you actually send us.
